Kaplan turbines

KAPLAN turbines are reaction turbines that are mainly used for low head and relatively high flow rates. The efficiency of these turbines at the optimum point is approximately 90%.

SERVO SHIP builds this type of turbines for power ratings up to 3,000 kW, with head between 2 and 20 meters. They are manufactured with horizontal, inclined or vertical axis.

They allow significant variations in nominal flow and nominal net head.

These turbines are built with double regulation, KAPLAN, in runner and distributor, for a better use of low flows, or with simple regulation, SEMIKAPLAN, only regulation in the runner.
